GERMANY: Not to be out-done by the industry's heavy-hitters, manufacturer Eno Energy has unveiled a new 4.8MW turbine at Husum Wind 2017.

The German company’s 4.8MW turbines can have rotor diameters of 114 metres and 126 metres with hub heights of between 92 and 162 metres, the company said.

Last year, the firm had unveiled turbines with a rated output of 4MW before upgrading this year.

The company was confident of filling its order backlog for 2018, following two auction rounds in Germany in May and August. A total of 1.02GW was contracted across the two tenders, mostly to citizen wind projects.

Eno joins the likes of Vestas, Nordex, and GE in launching new 4MW-plus turbines in recent months.
